In warmer areas and in summer months, it can be used in isolation to create a warm basking area.
In cooler areas, or for a wider beam of visual light, can be used in conjunction with a regular flood or halogen lamp controlled by a dimming thermostat.

Do not use with a thermostat.

Best suited to vivariums over 120cm/24′ and must be suspended vertically.
Do not use this lamp any closer than 30cm from any animal, this is the closest distance to the animal not the floor of the enclosure. Example the back of the tortoises shell.
This is the minimum safe distance to avoid over exposure
Lamp should be used with ceramic screw holder and guard, or clamp lamp with a guard(minimum diameter 20cm)
